About Us.

When you peek in behind the walls of St. Stephen’s large campus in the middle of Hollywood you will find a children’s wonderland - as we like to say: A hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood!

On any given day you will find kids painting, or playing music - or maybe today they are dancing in the afternoon or tending their own plants in the garden. With so much laughter and fun, it’s easy to forget the proven and lasting impact that this early childhood learning will have on the kid’s lives. And that’s exactly the point. Children who attend Delaney Wright are eager to explore and learn. They are excited when they discover and they begin to find their own voice.

Delaney Wright is proud to be one of the best preschools in Los Angeles and one of the only that focuses on learning through the arts. Our curriculum uses the arts to maximize each child’s development. We cover language arts, math, science (STEM), and social content through music, movement and dance, art, story-telling, dramatic play, and exploratory experiences. Serving children ages 18 months - 5 years, we provide all of our students with a responsive, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which they can reach their full potential.  We offer year-round enrollment to our day care because life is year-round (and the kids love it!) and our student/teacher ratio is even better than state mandates.

Give us a call or send us a note and schedule a tour to see this wonderful hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood for yourself! We know you'll love it - It’ll make you want to be a kid again!

Our Mission

At Delaney Wright our first responsibility is to the enrichment and development of the children we serve. Toward that end, we provide a highly-qualified teaching staff and excellent equipment and educational materials. In all that we do:

  • We follow the philosophy that our students are always to be treated with respect and concern.

  • We provide excellence in early childhood education by meeting the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and developmental needs our students.

  • We communicate effectively with the parents of our students about their progress, activities, concerns, and any necessary information.

  • We treat all of our staff with respect and fairness.

Through our long-term commitment to this mission, Delaney Wright is known as a preschool that is caring and committed to those we serve.

Our Philosophy

Here’s how professionals in the industry describe what we do: we facilitate learning through a child centered, whole process approach, while incorporating readiness development in language arts, math, science, physical growth, and social skills.  But more importantly, here’s what it means: each day, we strive to make the beauty of music, movement, and art accessible to our students to capture their interest and imagination. Because once a child’s imagination gets going with education, not even the sky’s the limit.

One of our primary goals is to encourage children to interact with others to learn to express their feelings and needs appropriately. We do this through arts. Why is this our philosophy?

  • Children who are socially and emotionally competent, those who are friendly, attentive, and curious are children who are ready to participate in their environment. Our goal is to help our children develop a sense of themselves as unique individuals, while respecting the needs and feelings of others. We emphasize kindness, consideration, and inclusion.

  • At Delaney Wright our community is based on the caring and nurturing of others. We model positive and happy relationships and emphasize kind and inclusive behaviors, and diversity and differences are appreciated.

  • A child’s discovery of and interaction with others is the very basis of his or her connection to the world. When children participate fully in a meaningful and challenging environment, they grow into well-rounded individuals. They become initiators of friendships, problem solvers, inventors, decision makers and hope for the future.
