Our youngest class is designed to accommodate growth in all areas of development with an array of stimulating activities and materials balanced by a daily routine that provides security and predictability for the children.
Children in our transitional toddler classroom learn how to express their newfound desire for control and autonomy while simultaneously developing social skills as interest and interaction with their peers grows. Children are encouraged to initiate their own activities, while teachers provide appropriate choices and limits.
Curriculum focuses on collaboration, decision-making, negotiation, and the development of physical and cognitive skills. Activities evolve around the children’s interests and ideas with time for the children to explore at their own pace. Their experience develops skills for continuous learning.
We believe that familial and parental involvement is essential to children’s success and to the success of our program. We aim to foster healthy partnerships and effective communication with families so that we can all work together to ensure the success and happiness of each child. In addition to enhancing the children’s experiences at school, parental involvement enriches the quality of our program. Each family brings their own uniqueness to the program and the entire Delaney Wright community benefits from the involvement of each and every family.
As stated in the DWFAP Eagle Rock Parent Handbook, each family is required to complete 12 volunteer hours per year per child. These hours can be completed in a multitude of ways! Some ways include:
Serving on a parent committee (Room Parent Committee, Fundraising Committee, Teacher Appreciation Committee)
Volunteering at or assisting with fundraising events
Weekend “work” days where parents can hang out with other parents and help beautify our campus
Helping set up or break down special events, such as our Winter Show or our annual Spring Gala Fundraiser
